Club raises thousands for charity in sponsored hill walk

Saturday 20 April saw 16 members , plus one dog , of the Bobby Hollywood Dunoon Celtic Supporters Club embark on a sponsored hike from Glen Kin to Inverchaolain via the famous Coffin Route. The aim of the hike was to raise funds for both the Celtic Charity Fund, as part of Celtic’s 125 for 125 campaign, and also for Dunoon Youth Club.

The original concept was hatched by club members Gus MacKay and Paul Bonnar and the reality was planned and organised by the Club’s resident hill walker , Charlie McCabe.

Transport was provided by the Fisher Bros of Fishertrucks – very many thanks to them – and driving duties performed by the longest serving Club member , Johnny Bonnar , who dropped us off at the start of the hike and picked us up again at Inverchaolain Church.

The hike was completed in approximately 3 hours which included a hilltop picnic and obligatory ‘Celtic Huddle ‘. Indications are that the walk has raised around £2000 and this will be shared equally between Dunoon Youth Club and the official Celtic Charity Fund.

Thanks to all who participated and supported the event and to all who contributed generously through sponsorship . More pictures from the walk are below.
